Who we are?

Hello from Papla Media! We’re just two engineers from Poland, driven by a clear mission to innovate.

What do we do?

We’re on a mission to build the next generation of voice interfaces. With the rise of LLMs, computers have actually become talkable – they can be funny, friendly, and most importantly, incredibly useful in everyday life and work. Yet, we still rely on outdated technology for spoken interactions with them. It’s time for a change — let’s make speaking to AI as natural as talking to a human!

Are we different?

We personally hate the current paradigm of one-directional AI assistants. People are not push-to-talk! We’re not just creating another ASR + TTS pipeline. Instead, we’ve designed our system with two communication channels, enabling simultaneous interaction and a more natural conversational flow.

What have we built so far?

We’re developing our technology stack from the ground up, guided by our principles for conversation. Here are some key developments:

• Our in-house speech codec achieves a crazy compression ratio, enabling us to train attention-based models on extended contexts required for dialogues with multiple speaker turns.
• Our custom data collection and processing pipelines are specially designed for conversational AI, ensuring effective management of large-scale datasets of human dialogues and discussions.
• We’ve trained our generative transformer model, which has learned to synthesize natural conversations between humans in a fully controlled way! This is our first step towards our goal of an end-to-end voice assistant. Here’s a sneak peek of what our V1 model is capable of:
